This committee collects and disseminates cultural information, increases the visibility of artistic and cultural endeavors in District 9, and supports the establishment of cultural arts destinations in West Harlem.

Its goal is to foster a culturally sensitive environment that facilitates favorable opportunities for artists living and working in the District. The Committee recognizes the legacy of the community’s arts and cultural contributions and is committed to furthering such traditions.

The Committee will advance these interests at the city, state, and federal levels. It will also serve as a professional liaison to arts organizations, media, and entertainment companies as well as civic and cultural institutions for CB9M. The Committee also advises the Executive Committee and General Board, individuals and Elected Officials concerning Arts and Culture issues in the District 9 community. It works closely with the other CB9M committees to advance mutual issues and projects regarding art and culture in the District.
