This Committee is an Ad-Hoc committee developed by the Community Board Chair to examine the specific concerns impacting the Community Board 9 area. The committee consists of a member from each of the Community Board’s standing committees and is currently reviewing the West Harlem Community Benefits Agreement signed with Columbia University in 2009. This review is focusing on Columbia’s implementation of the “Benefits Agreement”; its impact on the community as well as several other areas.
What we are working on:
- Examining the impact incarceration on the West Harlem Community, Prevention to recidivism.
Our goals for the year
- Continue to monitor the West Harlem Community Benefits Agreement.
- Develop a closer relationship with the large housing developments in the district.
